I love Christmas, and especially the Food on Christmas Day! I was so excited to have Jakes family over and cook for them! After the day was over, I thought it was funny I picked things I had never made before, but I am glad all the food turned out delicious! Jakes family is troopers and will always eat whatever I make for them 🙂
We made French Toast from Great Harvest Cinnamon Pull Apart bread, and oh wow….it was divine! The cinnamon chunks camelized, and with whip cream and strawberries, it was perfection!
Bacon and Sausage!
I really like doing meals buffet style. I feel its easier to get your food, and for someone to go get seconds. Its also fun to see what food options you have to eat! I also like that it makes it less crowed on the eating table! (we have a small table though)
For dinner, we did a Honey Baked Ham, (my favorite! The meat is so tender and delicious! A Christmas meat must!) green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and rolls! For dessert we had pumpkin pie.
I am not going to lie, I was so proud how everything turned out! It was my first time making a big meal with lots of sides on my own! Jakes mom was so sweet and helpful and did all the potatoes and all the dishes! She is amazing! Jake was also super helpful! He is always willing to lend a hand and help with whatever needs to be done! I had such a great Christmas this year! I am sad it came and went so fast. Way to fast actually. I am excited for this coming year though. There is much to look forward to 🙂
