Tips For Planning The Ultimate Babymoon

Planning a babymoon?! Today we are sharing all our tips and tricks to have a fun, relaxing and romantic time with your loved one!

Jake and I just got back from a super dreamy babymoon at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole in Wyoming. It was just the perfect babymoon location for fun, relaxing, bonding, and amazing food! We LOVED it so much! Today we are sharing all the details with you from the trip, plus tips for planning a babymoon for you and your significant other!

1. Pick A Destination

Sometimes the hardest part about planning a trip is narrowing it down to where you want to go. For a babymoon we would recommend picking a destination that has the type of ambience that is relaxing to you. Jake an I are mountain people. We love the outdoors, big pine trees, western vibes, plaid, all that good stuff that comes with cabin life. For us we knew a perfect babymoon destination would be Jackson Hole where we could live out all those things we love!

When you are pregnant there are lots of options of places you can visit. If you have questions on what’s ok, talk to your doctor. The only limits we have had on travel was going to destinations that had potential virus from bugs like Zika. If you are nervous traveling while pregnant, you can check out our previous blog post with lots of tips and tricks for traveling pregnant.

2. Find A Resort/Hotel

We are all about resorts. Why??!! They have restaurants, on-site activities, spas, pools and so much to offer! For us we are big fans of the Four Seasons resorts and love staying at them anytime we can. Jake and I love mountains and the great outdoors so we knew Four Seasons Jackson Hole was where we wanted to be. We have actually visited here once before and we knew going back for a babymoon was a must! The resort was so sweet and knew we were coming for a babymoon and had a mini fridge and a pregnancy pillow in our room waiting for us. It was so sweet and the best! This is seriously one of our favorite places to explore and enjoy! We looked forward to this trip so much and it really lived up to all our expectations and more!

3. Plan Some R & R Time

Being on a babymoon means it’s time to relax and even spoil yourself! Really though, this is the time! You are having a baby, you earned it! Whether you are carrying the baby, adopting, have a surrogate, whatever it is, it’s time for some relaxing time for you and your partner! A babymoon can be such a fun bonding time together, find some ways you both enjoy relaxing and go for it!

Jake really enjoyed spending some time by the pool. My favorite part of the pool set up was the heated towels and robes! I would keep getting a new fresh warm towel and use it as blanket while I sat and read a book and Jake hot tubbed.

One of our favorite things we did at the FS Jackson Hole is visit the Spa. Jake had fun enjoying the sauna, hot tubs and spa amenities. They had some fun herbal teas in the spa and granola bars that he really loved. I got to get a maternity massage. Have you ever had a pregnancy massage?!?! OMG!!! Seriously, the best thing of my life! It was a full body massage but they made it especially for me and the babies. There were special pillows for my belly, a massage table that folded and lowered down, it was just all perfection! We got to do a lot of fun things on our trip but this might have been my favorite part of the trip! My swollen feet and ankles were in heaven!

4. Take Advantage of Hotel Amenities

Many resorts have really cool amenities that they offer. At the Four Seasons Jackson Hole they have a really cool partnership with Mercedes Benz where you can take a car out for the day for FREE! Can you believe that?! We checked out one of the Mercedes for a day and it was cleaned and filled with a full tank of gas ready for us to go explore. We took it out to Grand Teton National Park that is just a few minutes drive away from the resort.

Another amenity we jumped on was a sack-meal service the resort does. You can order a packed lunch with a really great quality meal. You just pick the day, what you want and order your meal. We took our packed lunches on a picnic! It was so nice to not have to worry about getting food or where to prepare it and just go have fun!

5. Enjoy The Ambience

Whether you are staying on the beach or up in the mountains, take some time to enjoy the ambience! When Jake and I travel we LOVE to be on the go. We will over plan and be out and about from the moment we wake up till we go to bed. With pregnancy I have not had the energy that I normally have and so it has been a really great reminder to sit and enjoy the ambience! On your babymoon, find time to sit and enjoy!

At the Four Seasons Jackson Hole they have gorgeous fire pits on the back of the property where it is lined with amazing mountain views. You can order drinks, food, a cowboy cookie, and sit and enjoy! If it gets chilly out they even have cozy blankets for you to snuggle in! On our trip we would end each night by the fire. It was such a great way to finish off a day!

Our room also had a fireplace which I loved! I would turn it on before we went to bed and fall asleep feeling so cozy. This is such a cozy place with a great ambience for some romance and snuggles!

6. Get Out And Explore

Four Seasons Jackson Hole is located in Teton Village and is full of places to explore and see right from the resort. A few steps away there is a huge aerial tram at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. It will take you to 10,000 feet above where you can go for hikes, take some scenic pictures, and stop at Corbet’s Cabin. Corbet’s Cabin is famous for their waffles! They say the secret ingredient is the altitude that makes the waffles extra yummy! Our favorites are the brown sugar and nutella waffle.

You are also so close to downtown Jackson Hole where there is shopping, treats, restaurants, and so much more! When picking a babymoon spot, find a place that has activities around that you and your spouse would enjoy going out and doing!

7. Eat Some Good Food!

What’s a vacation without some amazing food?!??! Anyone else agree?!?! Eating at fun restaurants and unique spots is often my favorite thing to do on trips. I love trying new places to eat as well as new foods! We tried two new restaurants this trip we wanted to share with you, and also share our other favorite spots in the area!

The Handle Bar- This hot spot is located on the Four Seasons Jackson Hole property. It’s a really fun handle bar mustache theme and is a great place to grab an appetizer and drink or sit for a full meal. They have indoor and outdoor seating so you can take your pick 😉 These pictures to the left and below are from The Handle Bar.

Westbank Grill- Another restaurant at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole is called Westbank Grill. It is honestly to this day the best meal I have ever eaten! Jake and I have had a lot of great food in our day, but this food was incredible! The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner but this trip we dinned here for dinner. The wedge salad, tortilla soup, bison steak, and strawberry souffle were my favorites! My mouth is just watering thinking about this meal! It was sooo YUM! The neat thing is the dinner menu changes seasonally so it would be a fun spot to visit often to try the delicious foods.

Persephone Bakery & Healthy Being Cafe & Juicery- If you are looking for a fun breakfast joint downtown, these are both super cute and tasty! They are open all day, but the brunches are super delicious!

Figs- Have you ever had Baba Ganoush?! Go here and order it! You’ll thank me later! You can also get delicious kebabs, hummus and other amazing Lebanese cuisine.
