Cactus Themed Desert Nursery

Putting together the girls nursery was such a blast! I can’t tell you how much I loved it! Jake and I had so much fun shopping around and trying to find the perfect spot for everything! We were so grateful we got to move into our new house a month before the girls were born so we could get the nursery done before they arrived!

If you saw when we were first pregnant, Jake and I were thinking of doing a woodland themed nursery. When we saw this fun cactus wallpaper on Minted right away we were sold! As a result we changed up the nursery to a cactus themed desert oasis! I grew up in Arizona and loved cactus so it just seemed fitting. Jake is also a big saguaro fan 🙂

We knew the girls would not be sleeping in the nursery till they were older, but it would a room where we spent lots of time changing diapers, playing and reading books. It was important for the room to not only be cute and fun to look at, but functional too. We tried multiple layouts in this room and this is the layout we came up with. Luckily it has been working out great! (2 cribs are surprisingly a little tricky to fit in one room!) This room is pretty small so it was important to us that we maximized every space we could.

When the girls get older and start sleeping in their cribs, the bumper, stuffed animals and blankets will come down of course, but for now I love them up! I knew this room would mostly be for me in the beginning, so it was important for this room to be a place for me to be able to enjoy with the girls too!
