Crepe Night

Something my mom loved to do as a family for New Year’s Eve growing up is have a crepe night! We tried it out one year and loved it so much we have been doing almost every year since. My mom bought an electric crepe maker we use now, which also makes it super fun!

Waffle Bar

This is a super fun and easy way to celebrate! Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner! If you want to get super fancy add a bunch of toppings to the spread! Nutella, Biscoff, fruit, different syrups, etc. You could even do different kinds of waffles like pumpkin, chocolate, etc.

Appetizer Night

Having food out for snacking all night is always a plus when waiting for midnight to hit! Cheese boards, crock pot food, etc. If you have lots of Christmas left overs, might as well add those to the mix! Lots of fun options for appetizers! My mom does a baked brie that is my favorite that I look forward to for New Year’s.

Dress Up

Does anything else sound more New Years Eve than dressing up?!!? Dress up for a photo booth, family party, for the big ball drop or just to dance around! I got my girls these fun sparkle dresses (also come in pink). They only wore them for photos but it was still so fun to dress up as a family!

Sparkler Send Off

Say goodbye to the old year and hello to a new year! Sparklers can be so much fun and create some really lasting memories! Have a fun sparkler send off to the year! (As always with fire and fireworks, make sure to go over saftey with everyone!)

Movie Marathon

Count down to midnight with a movie marathon! Enjoy some family time and catch up on some screen time.

At Home Photo Booth

Have some fun creating a balloon garland, or get some giant balloons with numbers for the New Year! Grab some party hats and photo props and have some fun! My girls really love playing with balloons and really enjoy anytime they are around!

Build A Giant Sleepover Fort

What about a family sleepover?!?! Build a giant fort, grab a bunch of blankets and snuggle up together!

Goal Night

Think about the future as a family. Pick a family theme word for the year and have everyone pick a goal to work on. Write down the goals and put them somewhere (like a fridge) where you can all see the goals throughout the year.

Glow Stick Dance Party

If you haven’t noticed yet, we are big fans of dance parties and glow sticks around here! Get a bunch of glow sticks, turn on the music loud and dance is all out!! Plus this will get everyone very tired for a good night sleep! hahah 😉

Plan The Year As A Family

Anything better than the sound of a New Year to get in the planning mood?!?! Take an hour and look over the calendar together as a family. Plan a few vacations together. Come up with ideas on how to save up money as a family for special things. Talk about what activities the kids want to do this year and get their input on planning out the year. This helps the whole family be on the same page, plus everyone gets a chance to share what they would like to do the upcoming year.

At-Home Firework Show

Having a firework show at home can be a really fun time! Make sure to check your cities ortancences for what kind of fireworks are allowed. This is also something you want to be very careful and safe about! But fireworks can be so much fun! This year we got a bunch of lawn chairs out and sat and watched my brother-in-laws light off fireworks. We all really enjoyed it!

Make A Time Capsule

How fun does this sound?! I have never done this before but want to try it with my girls when they get older. Put together a bunch of photos, write little notes to your future self, jot down favorite moments of the year and seal it up. Save the time capsule for a future New Year’s Eve to look back at.

Bang Pots & Pans

Growing up this was something we did on New Year’s Eve. Before midnight my mom would grab all the pots, pans and wooden spoons. When the clock strikes midnight we would bang the pans and make some noise.

Balloon Drop

I have seen these balloon drop bags that look like so much fun! You blow up a bunch of balloons and put them in the bag. Then the bag attaches to the ceiling. When its time to party, pull the string on the bag to tear it and a bunch of balloons drop down! Wahoo! Doesn’t that sound so fun!?!?

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Do you have any New Year’s Eve Traditions you look forward to celebrating every year?!! We would love to hear all about it in the comments below. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day!
